The 2016 Invicta Open
was a great success.
Thanks to all who competed and helped make
it two great days of fencing.
The 2017 event will be held on the 18th (Epee and
Sabre) and 19th (Foil) March.
Entries will be accepted from around the turn of the year.
The Invicta has developed from a small provincial
foil competition to a truly international 6-weapon event, with overseas
entries from our friends from Belgium and the Netherlands as well
as others from the continent and elsewhere. It has earned an enviable
reputation as a hard-fought but friendly competition with an excellent
atmosphere, welcoming everybody from near beginners to regular open
finalists, and has an exceptional venue at UKC. It has maintained

Tenterden Swords would like to thank Leon Paul for the supply of
scoring kit and the equipment stand, UKC for the excellent facilities,
England Fencing for the supply of display screens for the pool and
DE results and Pentahlon GB for the loan of the metal pistes, and
Kent Fencing for the loan of pistes, boxes and tower lights.
A celebration meal with Tenterden club members was held in Canterbury
on the Saturday evening for fencers travelling from overseas and
referees. This as always proved to be very enjoyable.
The event venue is:
The Sports Hall, University of Kent, Canterbury,
Kent, CT2 7NL.
